Sadly i had quite a few downs in this episode. I dont understand why they diminished the stakes with all that was in the trailers.
Episode 2 i did enjoy however even with the absolutely glaring plothole.

During its infancy there was a huge collaboration with French and UK tech nerds to develop the protocols that allowed computers to talk to each other. Previous attempts resembled chaos and arguments between the computers like only seen in US Senate debates 😂

Technically the internet was not invented in America either. Although ARPANET was the first wide scale example of packet switching

They did. Meetings were held in Dublin between RTE and BBC where they signed a pact saying this contest is costing us a bloody fortune and we agree not to host it for another 25 years 😂

And while 2012 was a huge moment i personally think the 2010 hosting is one of the best ever. Where we go after this year will be interesting.

There have been a few shifts over the years where the contest changed quite a lot. 1974 being the first that ended the old era. 1998 really changed a lot and we entered a free expressive era (Yes, yes i know this view ages badly) 2006 made the contest a bit weird to casual viewers. tbc
