Vårvinter. Spring winter. Thats what we call February/March in Tornevalley. Lots of snow but also lots of clear blue sky and sunshine.
When the spring wind starts to blow we hang salted reindeer meat to airdry under our roof ledge. Most put chicken wire around to keep birds out.

Before moving to Canada from Sweden I knew very little about Canada and its history. In school the main focus was the US and its history. Even now after almost a decade in Canada I know very little about black history in Canada and Alberta.

It's time to change that. I will share what I learn

All sales from my shop goes to fund my trip home to Sweden. I haven't been since 2016 and got notice the storage needs to be emptied.

Growing up in northern Sweden my mom put me on skiis as soon as I could walk. Winter is my favourite season!
I now live in Canada and today my kiddo did their first ski race, only the 4th time skiing but did so good! Went around the 1.5km with a big grin & shouted "good job" to everyone that passed

It's-32 outside, -38 with windchill. It's funny I have experienced more -40 weather in central Alberta, Canada than living in northern Sweden by the arctic circle 😬 Inferno is upset that I'm not letting her outside.
I love winter but today I'll stay indoors and finish this leather hat.

I made these as my graduating project at the shoemaker education in Sweden in January 2016 and now 2025 i have been in Canada 9 years and wore these 3 seasons out of 4. They're a bit too warm in summer.

I have found my way back to leatherwork and I'm working on making these shoes here.

I belong to a minority population in Sweden called Tornedalians (swe: tornedaling), we have our own language, meänkieli, and flag. In Norway we are known as kven (swe: kvän)
