Autistic, chronically and mentally ill gal who talks too much and writes a lot 🩷 Also love musicals with my whole heart and doodling ✨
2025 has been a shit show so far 🥲 broke my foot in 2 places because I was being stubborn and attempting to do things without mobility aids/support. Things I haven’t been able to do for years - all of a sudden I thought it might work out for me. It didn’t 🙃

If I could only get rid of one of my chronic illnesses it would be ME/CFS no question about it. It is such a cruel condition that turns you from living to simply existing. I hate it.

More people need to realize that the online community is the only community many disabled people have.

There’s no winning when you’re chronically ill.

If you show people how you actually feel rather than masking it you get told things ‘can’t be that bad’ & you must be faking it.

If you hide how you’re feeling you get told things ‘can’t be that bad’ & you must be faking it.

When we talk about sexual violence, are we including autistic people in the conversation? If not, we’re leaving out some of the most vulnerable.

Autistic survivors are often retraumatized by support services that aren’t sensory-friendly or accessible. Trauma-informed care must include ALL survivors.

Consent education tailored to autistic individuals isn’t just important—it’s essential. Clear communication and understanding boundaries can empower autistic people and prevent harm.

Statistics do vary depending on where you look, but it is estimated that 30% of women have experienced sexual violence. This number jumps to between 60-90% of autistic women with around 75% reporting multiple incidents. We need to talk about this. Something needs to change.

Elphaba is for every person who went through their childhood and teenage years as an undiagnosed autistic who never felt like they would ever find their place in this world. She is for every child who was told they were too much, too loud, or too different.

Imagine waiting nearly 3 years for a pain management follow up from botched nerve blocks that ruined your mobility and led to being mostly bedbound to discuss the surgery they said would improve quality of life hugely… only to find out they discharged you 3 days before the appointment.

Started 2024 sectioned and in ICU in septic shock. Ended 2024 at home in bed proving everyone wrong. Most people thought I’d be back in hospital by now. So here’s to continuing to defy expectations in 2025 ✨

My best Christmas present? A video of me making our foster baby laugh - I’ve wanted to make them properly laugh for months & it finally happened. It’s a video I will cherish for years after they move on to their forever home next year 🥹

(Sound on for baby joy - face obviously hidden for privacy ✨)

Last year I woke up on a psych ward, sectioned and so depressed that I couldn’t move, speak or eat. This year I woke up at home with my dog, ate cinnamon buns and helped a nearly 1 year old open her stocking and watched the pure joy on her face. It gets better 🥹

No one:

My brain: remember that time you went for coffee and an old lady thought you were her granddaughter but you were too shy to correct her and then she sat with you trying to catch up?? Yeah… me too.
