That's about the time I got introduced too. Someone got me a starter set (3e I think?), and I was completely lost. Thankfully had a great mom who took me to the local game store and was fine with me playing games with dude twice my age, haha.

Yeah! Just reminded me I used to do chatroom fight/rp stuff as a kid before I even knew what dnd was, and my group would make different rules and conditions over time. Honestly pretty deep for kids now that I think about it.

After learning FKR ideas, I use them in almost every OSR game I run now. Next game I run might not even have attributes, just descriptors like "Strong" "Scrawny" etc. It's a very freeing mindset.
