Rather than whine every day about the present administration, why don't the press and other posters do some research and tell us the names of the companies that advertise on Fox News? Hit their pocketbooks instead.

Friends lunching at Picasso's home in the South of France commented on the fact that he had none of his own pictures on the walls. "Why is that Pablo?" they asked. "Don't you like them?" "On the contrary," he replied. "I like them very much. It's just that I can't afford them."

So simple, and yet an obvious solution.
Don’t just say DEI as if it’s a bad word. Spell it out.

Say diversity, which is the lifeblood of American society & culture & innovation.

Say equity, which a just society should pursue.

Say inclusion, because decent people believe in increasing belonging, not isolating people who are different.

Ideas? I get many notifications on people following me and I figured out that it’s pointless to follow back those who only repost what others have already said. I look for positive thoughts, insights, ideas that are new to me. What do others do that might help me make better decisions?

We learned this morning the Hollywood Hills fire is contained, which means to us my son's apartment was unharmed. We will hear from him today when he can return. We are now watching another fire close to my sister in Claremont.

Having a blast here! 78, happily married, and have a face like an Edsel. And yet every day 5 or more women follow me, often messaging me about how handsome I am! Told me wife she'd better watch her step, what with all these others who are crazy about me. What a place this is.

Last night I was having a martini, and the waitress yelled, "Does anybody know CPR?" I said, "I know the entire alphabet!" We all laughed and laughed, except for one guy.

Sunday's @nytimes.com acrostic contains this quote from Angela Davis: "We live in a society that depends on public amnesia."

Every day, no matter how glum you feel, there are many occasions to laugh or smile. They come at you all day, like popcorn popping. Today when one happens, take a few extra seconds to laugh or smile, so that the event takes up a greater volume or percentage of your day. Try it just once. It works.

If I go to the trouble to make breakfast in bed, a simple thank you will do, not all this, "How did you get into my house?"

Think of just one small thing that worked well for you yesterday, or made you smile or be happy. You can use that memory to be happy again today. I call it the Law of Conservation of Happiness. The things that made you happy never go away. Use them today and every day. Why on earth not?

Robert Frost was so captivated by even nature's smallest events that he offers his view in the poem, "The Pasture." a simple deed, just cleaning the pasture spring but he wants us to join him. Here is the first stanza:

The idea of having a happy day all day and every day was inspired by Wordsworth in "Daffodils." On a walk, the poet sees a field of beautiful daffodils and is awed by their beauty. Then on another day he lies on his couch and sees them again. He says...

Every day I follow the advice of Kurt Vonnegut: "And I urge you to please notice when you are happy, and exclaim or murmur or think at some point, If this isn’t nice, I don’t know what is."
I'm happy all the day and now I make it a point to notice it and prolong the good feeling. You can do it too.

Every day I log on here and read a post from some pundit telling me that Trump is a bad guy. I already know that, so why am I here? I want to follow people who have positive insights on life, uplifting ideas, a sense of humor. I'm going to "resift" through those I chose to follow and unload a few.
