Apple noticing a decrease in Google searches, the loss of the “long Reddit comment” heuristic, and now a decrease in StackOverflow questions. AI clearly bringing about the rise of a new internet era.

Are we taking the environmental N-th order effects of GLP-1s into account into emission estimates? I constantly think of this chart and how the foods that GLP-1 users are gravitating to are lower carbon.

Really struck by how low the Punchiná reservoir is these days. The reservoir powers the San Carlos Hydroelectric Power Plant, Colombia’s 1240 MW hydroplant. It seems like all the reservoirs I’ve ever visited are seemingly low.

At the Boston Lyric Opera’s Aida and it’s so funny how they try to justify that it’s in concert and not staged. It’s okay to say that it’s expensive to stage or that it’s not worth it for a one night engagement, you don’t have to pretend there’s some artistic reason behind it.

Felt a real thrill and excitement when my Amtrak train swung around and I saw the wind turbine parts in the Port of New London. We are building a new world.

Real toxic trait is wanting to look at a nice atlas, not finding any you like, and making your own map. Anyways, here's the work in progress

Weird part of the last week was when my little instagram account that showcased the ephemera and books I collect was permanently banned??? Guess obscure Harvardiana and José Celestino Mutis items were too much to handle?

A useful application for ChatGPT is in generating explanations in languages that have limited internet presence. I am almost positive that there’s no easily accessible write-up of hydrogen production via steam methane reforming or electrolysis in Bislama, but BAM you got it:

But in all seriousness, we’re talking about a third of the Colombian Amazon deforestation happening in the Guaviare. Crazy to have it being held in attempted blackmail by one guy whose nickname is “Bite”.

Past couple of weeks I’ve passed by a construction worker on my way to work. We always had very pleasant, normal, short conversations.

Today, I saw his car.
