41. Kingdom Hearts (again)

That’s right another play through of Kingdom Hearts!!!

I wanna say I'd hope the final boss/main antagonist is going to be something we aren't expecting but...based on the previous games it's most likely going to just be Master of Masters or Luxu and the surprise is going to be who MoM is and the contents of the Black Box

I really don't see us ever having a main villain build-up like the first game ever again. After Kingdom Hearts 2 we've gone into every game already knowing who the villain is and they have to get the surprises out in other ways like Vanitas in BBS or Xion in 358/2

But anyway talking about the villain reveals we get Xemnas just half-way through 2 with everything about him being Ansem's Nobody just told to us and then after that it's just
"Yeah it's Xehanort." for the villain with pretty much no surprise which just hmmmm

and then we finally see him after Sora's death and him fully taking over Riku's body.
I wish I could've played the game when I was a bit older but I first played this game when I was like 6 years old and it was the most important game ever to me. I love you KH1

and Ansem playing a part in her demise with unlocking the darkness in her heart. She perishes and Ansem is quick to throw himself into the role of the main antagonist. Then we have the actual big reveal right after that the robed man is Ansem the Seeker of Darkness

Through the whole game Ansem sits in the background while Maleficent and Riku take the stage as the main antagonists and then finally in the first half of the penultimate world he finally makes his move. He possesses Riku and we deal with the supposed big bad Maleficent

Ansem and his buildup really makes him the best villain in the series. Appearing as a mysterious figure early on and just mentioned and referenced throughout with all we know of him being what we read in his reports and what others tell us about him.
