Re-combing through my feed, perhaps what I thought was posts from accounts I don't know were actually reposts from people I know. When it shows 'reposted by' it's very tiny.

Also, I had to search back through my feed to find my original post. There's no 'wall'? Oh god why am I being character lim..

And my god, I already ran out of space. So this is just Twitter? There isn't ads, but if it feels like it when I'm being shown posts by people I don't know. Is it so much to ask for a social media app that I can just connect with friends on and NOT be run by a fascist?

I might be biased though, because I don't have any real experience in any other DAW such as Logic or Protools. So I don't have much to compare it too. But compared to any other "free" software I've ever used, it's certainly quite robust. There's also a healthy amount of Reaper resources online.
