I was there. Now I'm here.
It’s such a weird thing to want to have a public space for a private outlet and yet this is kinda what this place is for me

idk. Sometimes I want to just be weird on the internet. At least this is a place I can come scream into the void.

I just feel like chatting into the void today.

Really, it's my own fault for taking six months off, and being so shy that I have a hard time making connections in the way that matters in these social spheres. :P

Is there any good way to share fic on this site? (I’m finally getting back to writing things and feel very out of the loop on how to promote it)

I feel bad that I'm never on here... once I'm settled in more, I'll try to use this more.

Ooff, I'm behind in my writing. So much for sticking with a book a week. So, I'm still going to use this space for talking about books, but not in a rigid time period (clearly, lol)

Thank you so much for the rec! <3
Turning this into a thread just to keep track bc this is taking longer than I'd like. Starting with this fun truth or dare story called "Bright New Day" by @spaceorphan.bsky.social:

It's got a little bit of everything!

Week #3 : Richard Osman's The Thursday Murder Club. Another mystery, I know. I have a lot of them to get through :)
January 14, 2025 at 3:25 AM
Finished Book 2 : Janice Hallett's The Appeal. Liked it, didn't love it. The concept was great. Found it somewhat lacking as an engaging mystery. Just wasn't my cup of tea. 3.5 stars.

Okay, Week Two's book : The Appeal by Janice Hallett; a murder mystery. There's gonna be a lot of these this year...

Okay, I gotta figure out what I want to do for my second book...

Okay, finished book 1 for my Reading Challenge. Making It So by Patrick Stewart. Rating 5 Stars. A great memoir - Stewart's love of the theater really shines and it's a well written, and thought out book. The last 100 pages felt a little rushed, as it covered thirty years of time. But still great!
January 6, 2025 at 1:37 AM
Okay so Book #1 kind of cheating but since it’s not the first full week of the year it’s fitting. I’m going to finish Patrick Stewart’s autobiography Making It So.

Okay. So, here's what I'm thinking. Every Monday, I'll pick a book I've never read before and then try to read it before Sunday. My goal is to read a book a week. Now, should I start tomorrow or next week? Hmmm.

Hmmm. Maybe I can use this account to motivate myself to read more.

I just remembered my url handle comes from a Dwight Schrute quote, and it made me laugh.

I should probably go to bed now.
