Life experiences shapes our beliefs. That is why we are not copies of each other. Having a different point of view doesn't necessarily make a person evil.

Open to listening to other's ideas, though not tolerant of logical fallacies.

Some states have done away with the signature match to having a government issued id information supplied. It takes away the inconsistency of trying to do a signature match.

Rather than rely on test kits that I have to send off, I bought this electronic sensor, which tracks short & long term exposure. It was about $100 & had good reviews. This is just an example of one electronic sensor, so I am not endorsing it over another.

I just saw you mentioned the same sensor that I got. I like the idea of having ongoing tracking without the inconvenience of sending a test off to a lab.

There is a remediation process that draws the radon from the foundation & disperses it outside the house before it has a chance to decay. It is spendy... cost me about $1,800, but got radon levels extremely low in the basement area. Checked 17 years later and still safe.

My US state requires state issued ID to vote. The Real ID required that we get new driver's licenses by bringing paperwork in to Driver's Licensing agency, including Birth Certificate, Marriage License (name change). It wasn't fun,but once done, the Driver's license is all that's needed to vote

Typical experience here in Bluesky to get blocked by someone who cannot explain their reasoning. Silencing their own voice seems to be the practice. Feel free to either explain the name change issue or block me, don't need to waste time w/insecure people.

The name change applies to anyone changing their name, not just women getting married/divorced.A woman could keep her maiden name when getting married, but that isn't a common practice here in the US. Our government doesn't like people using different names when it comes to validation between systems.

I have seen several posts here in Bluesky by people who questioned that Trump won all of the swing states for 2024 elections. It seems there a mistrust of election integrity on all sides, so why not introduce a consistent means to enforce requirements of citizenship & other eligibility factors?

When there is an influx of 10-15 million undocumented immigrants over the past 4 years w/some states being lax with voter registration requirements, there is a concern about maintaining the requirement of citizenship for federal elections.

Not trying to be obtuse. Actually I'm trying to understand how this affects married women. After all, a name change requires an update w/SS in order do taxes as W2 name needs to match SS records. So paperwork w/marriage license has to be supplied. ID is already intertwined in our society.

The Real ID Act was passed by Congress in 2005 & required states to add these citizenship requirements for state issued driver's license & IDs. This is a requirement in order to use state issued IDs for plane travel by May 2025. Trying to understand what this changes.
January 10, 2025 at 2:54 PM
Sounds like you went thru steps for Real ID, which was passed by Congress in 2005, enacting the 9/11 Commission’s recommendation that the Federal Government “set standards for the issuance of driver's licenses & ID cards.” All states are required to do this by May 2025 to to use for plane travel.

The SAVE Act requires states to obtain proof of citizenship, in person, before registering an individual to vote for a Federal election. Requires states to remove non-citizens from existing voter rolls, while giving them necessary tools to do so. Why is this bad?

Thx for sharing your personal perspective. This highlights the point that health insurance doesn't equal health care. I am sure that many have similar experiences.

Nothing is free. Funding is always the challenge. Are you willing to pay more in taxes & possibly have to wait for some medical care? I had a relative in his 80s who had a dr tell him that he was too old treat his cancer, so got another dr. 20 years later, he is ready to celebrate his 100th bday.

With all of the conceal carry laws in the US, this may not be the greatest idea.

I got blocked by the OP for my comment. Guess there are some who still dismiss the obvious & silence any alternative thought.

Financially struggling people who were gaslighted when told that the economy was doing great or mocking them about the price of eggs wasn't the best campaign strategy. People voted for change. Not a psychopathic response at all, but the same mocking is going on here. Who isn't learning a lesson?
December 20, 2024 at 3:35 PM
Have you bothered asking any of the 77,297,721 people why they voted the way they did or do you just block them?
December 20, 2024 at 3:20 PM
I have heard the same thing happened to some people I know. Had to get blood transfusions, but baby finally grew out of that condition.

Or maybe it had to do with the following:

So we will see what a new administration does to address CPI and inflation. Interest rate drop will help with many things, especially home purchases.
December 13, 2024 at 12:53 AM
Inflation rates are cumulative. It greatly increased following the passage of the American Rescue Plan(2021) even though economists warned that it would be inflationary. Biden's term-2021: 4.7%, 2022: 8.0%, 2023: 4.1%, 2024 to date: 2.7%. Housing is the worse, not eggs. People are losing homes.
December 13, 2024 at 12:28 AM
Based on info from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) aggregate nbr is at historically high levels. CPI incorporates 8 major consumer spending grps. Belittling people who are financially struggling is what lost the Dems the election. As for ignorance, look in the mirror.

If Democrat leadership had been more forthcoming about Joe Biden's dementia & removed him from either the WH or at least the Presidential primary earlier, a better candidate could have been picked than Kamala Harris.
