Governments are at best a non-profit. But they really aren't even that. They look out for all the goings on in a country and serve the population of that country and provide the support to make their lives as good as possible. At least that's what they are supposed to do.

He has one move. It's not "let's make it easier to make movies in the US." It's "let's punish people".

There is no way we can become a manufacturing economy in 2-3 years. Manufacturering these days is automated. You have to first build the factories to make the robots then you can build the factories to make the goods. A factory takes 3-5 years to build. China has 20 years on us.

Also....maybe if there wasn't such a huge wealth disparity, there wouldn't be petty crime on subways.....because in other places, there really isn't, and income inequality is literally the cause of most crime.

Do they know that mass transit in other countries is one of the best ways to get around? Can you imagine negotiating Tokyo without their rail system?

You know they won't. But yes. And Vance. And every single MAGA acolyte

You mean Obama did that all on his own, or a Republican Congress passed a bill that he couldn't veto that had that effect while he was president?

But she's wrong.

And the last lines prove it. Because he says "never had to...I better knock on wood". So he is coming to a decision to buy into the superstition. But that's at the end of the song, so at that point, he hasn't knocked on wood yet.

And she's wrong.
March 31, 2025 at 12:29 AM
It's not about knocking on wood at all. It's about not having to deal with tragedy
March 31, 2025 at 12:26 AM
Well, it's not abilities knocking on wood. It's about not having to deal with a personal tragedy.
March 31, 2025 at 12:26 AM
But they were.

The "I've" also makes it clear.

No. It's one sentence. Never had to knock on wood. Meaning he's never done that, and never wants to have to. If it was two sentences, you might have a point, but it's not. And the next line doesn't really make sense your way either.
March 31, 2025 at 12:20 AM
The next line means he's known someone who had to knock on wood. Your interpretation means you have to call back the verses for it to make sense.
March 31, 2025 at 12:17 AM
Look at the lyrics. It's one sentence. "Never had to knock on wood". Meaning he's never been so close to a tragedy that he had to engage in a superstition to boost his luck. So he's never had to, and he doesn't want to be in that position.
March 31, 2025 at 12:15 AM
He would need a contistutional amendment to do so constitutionally
March 31, 2025 at 12:12 AM
You've got the first part right. But then he says NEVER had to knock on wood. So that's he never did before, and he's glad he's hasn't yet, which means he is not knocking on wood currently.
March 31, 2025 at 12:10 AM
No, he's never had to knock on wood. And he's glad he hasn't yet, because he's sure it isn't good. That's the impression that he gets.

People are starting to be advised to leave.
March 30, 2025 at 10:31 PM
So....democrats were shooting black children at school? That's a weird way to put it. But yeah, they didn't reform gun control. That is true, and that is the sort of thing I'm talking about.

Because he knew that leadership changes and the public was not with Netanyahu. So he was looking at maintaining the alliance going forward. It's not so simple. Biden is not responsible for the genocide. He did not make that policy for Israel. He put no troops on the ground.
