My first MFF had its ups and downs but there were so many moments where I could capture liminal spaces in the main hotel lobby. Here’s to next year I suppose.

Haven’t posted in a while so here’s a batch of breakout boards I’ve been working on from JLCPCB. The PQFPs are coming in later for me to solder but I want to finish them ASAP.

Bluesky needs more Nixie clocks!

Just finished a PCB layout for one of the boards of a project I’ve been working on this past month.

Going to run the whole thing on an ESP32-S3 chip to design it as an IoT-capable device with backlit LEDs (per usual) and USB PD support.

Now onto routing :3c
A 3D rendered PCB design for a nixie tube clock labeled ‘SMART NIXIE!’. The board is red and its tubes display the time "33:33:33". It features labeled sections for ‘HOURS’, ‘MINUTES’, and ‘SECONDS’. The PCB also has silkscreened warnings about high voltage and a gear icon for open-source hardware. A Soviet hammer and sickle symbol is included in the design. A 3D-rendered PCB design for a nixie tube clock, showing the backside of the red circuit board. In the center, there is a white silkscreen illustration of a jackal cub biting an arm, accompanied by the text: ‘Trans rights are human rights, keep fighting always and forever!’ This PCB is labeled as ‘Designed by: buppy :3’, referring to the author of this post, in its first revision and a creation date of February 2025.
