So this painting has been sitting on my wall for ages, as I've tried to decide if I wanted to pick it up or just toss it. And tonight I figured... what the hell, let me do the grisaille.

I'm currently playing between moving permanently to Linen Canvas or gessoboard... it's a tossup.

General technique test for my big painting. I ... well the technique works but I also semi-rushed through this painting. I plan to take a lot more time with the proper painting when I do it. Then again, practice is practice.

Sharing a piece of work in progress/ prelim art. This is a sketch of a new painting I'll be working on, and I was just so proud of how it came out looking. The idea is a bit of fantasy mixed into a bit of darkness. idk what it'll be called in the end but for now I call it 'Beacon'.

The better part of valor is knowing when to stop. I miessed up mixing hair colors, so Im going to let this piece sit, come back in a couple weeks, and work on it again when I know Im ready.

Six months ago (Left) I started my first oil portrait, and I was extremely dissatisfied with the results at the time. I knew my forms were good, but I hadn't quite had a handle on skintones.
Six months later, I think I have ENOUGH a handle to try and work on it again. And... it's coming out well!

My next painting has been transferred over. And this one will be my first painting on Linen! We shall see how this goes because if this works well I may be linen here on out.

Well, neither of my planned things happened BUT I did get the TARDIS painting varnished for my art show next week, and I stretched and sized a new linen canvas for a new test painting.
Gonna gesso the new canvas probably on thursday, and I have an idea what to paint on it to test it.
