Gosh this really was something lol

Started as a simple escape room, turned into a bit of chaotic storytelling.

Not bad for less than 30 days of work!

That's been a concern of mine.

They talked up a storm about the headset and controllers, but mention absolutely nothing about full body tracking, or face tracking capabilities.

The fact that it is only inside out tracking feels like they're truly leaving the index behind....

It's currently .9075 rad outside where I am.
November 13, 2025 at 4:43 PM
That's understandable.

I currently use the track pads to move and wiggle my toes. A few others I know use it for their wing movements.

And uh...useful for additional things I shall leave unmentioned lol.

But yea, def gonna have to see what we get and it's price point before I completely knock it.

Biggest thing for the new headset, seems to be more geared towards gaming than social VR aspects.

Going to require more physical effort for full body, face tracking and whatnot.

Also, kinda dislike them replacing the track pad with two buttons.

Might be an ok gaming headset tho.

Also leads me to ask, if the Frame is even good to use for Social VR situations. How good it's full body tracking use will be and if it's even a viable option to be able to run social VR platforms as intense as Resonite (which is what I primarily use VR for).

Please provide more info #Steamframe

I use the HTC face tracker with my index as well, works fairly decent. Having a native face tracker would be great, but as far as an all in one package, the index has been phenomenal. Having the face tracker separate hasnt been a hassle at all.

Sure, the frame looks to be more appealing to VR gaming.

But when it comes to social VR, the index is far superior in its use.

The knuckle controllers track pads have a wide range of use. Extra buttons don't really add anything the track pad couldn't have done already.

If you could potentially listen to current index owners or get some opinions, would be great.

What you've shown for the frame does not appeal a reason for me to get off the index. I can live without eye tracking if it means I'm able to use my base stations and knuckle controllers.
