San’s entrance in Princess Mononoke is one of the hardest scenes in cinema. The simultaneously loving act yet visually visceral scene of tending to Moro’s bullet wound and spitting out the blood and wiping her mouth as she looks down at Ashitaka and the audience with disgust.
