North Dakota used to be a socialist farming state.

ND still has a state owned bank, & a state owned grain mill that exist as echoes from that time & both are profitable.

Farmers used to be an important voting block, but they've become too few. Corporate banking & farming has reduced them.

If the farmers lose, then the production will go to corporate farms. That's not good.

Unfortunately, family farms are losing & disappearing year after year, doesn't matter which party.

So, they get caught up in the hot topics & unknowingly vote against their best interest.
