Week 13
The Great Wall (2016) 🇺🇸🇨🇳

I didn't notice who were the actors at first because of their beard- I was pleasantly surprised. It's an okay popcorn flick.

Week 12
Bridesmaids (2011) 🇺🇸

Not a bad comedy. Kristen Wiig really knows how to act like a mess.

Week 11
Flow (2024) 🇱🇻

Beautiful and calming. It’s refreshing to watch an animated film that doesn’t try too hard to be quirky. This film is certainly an experience.

Week 10
The Monkey (2025) 🇺🇸

Another bloody good fun of a film. In terms of artistic direction, I think Longlegs (2024) has more of it. This one is easier to digest for general audiences. It didn’t exactly hit the bullseye, but still a ton of fun. Making it a dark comedy was a brilliant choice.

Man, #Oscars really do hate horror. 'The Substance' should have won more. And it's insane to me that 'Nosferatu' didn't get more nominations.

Week 9
Companion (2025) 🇺🇸

Finally, a sci-fi horror film that offers a fresh take on killer robots. It’s a fun, bloody ride but still manages to be emotional when it counts. As far as thrillers go, this one feels like it could earn its place among modern classics.

Week 8
The Gorge (2025) 🇺🇸

A beautiful love story set against an action-horror backdrop. Anya Taylor-Joy is delightful to watch, as always. While the story is unique, it leaves the audience wanting more.

Week 7
Thelma (2024) 🇺🇸

Good, wholesome fun. While the humor is magnificent, the emotional parts are also delivered splendidly. The parody of spy film montages really sealed the deal for me.

Week 6
Nosferatu (2024) 🇺🇸

I thought it was brilliant. The film makes significant changes from the source material, allowing it to stand on its own. It's one of the most beautiful horror films I've ever seen. Love the use of old English language. May come across as too artsy for some.

Week 5
Ibu (2024) 🇸🇬

Watched it for Alicia Amin. Some shots were amazing—the director loves wide angles. The plot, script, and some acting felt stiff, and it wasn’t scary—just full of horror tropes. I did love the settings. They could’ve gone with a funny route with her friend’s character.

My biggest wish is to finally be able to explain to people just how great Jonathan Coulton is—how incredibly genius his lyrics are and how amazing his songs are. But I always seem to fail to express it in a way that gets people intrigued.
