I've got to admit I'm being hypocritical here by voting for the stone roses. My excuse is that he was always an obnoxious idiot who couldn't even sing, and the weakest link in an already pretty shaky chain. So I guess it's kind of baked in?

The Stone Roses are the perfect example of why fandom is a bad idea. They produced this one astonishingly good album that perfectly nailed a vibe and then everything else they did - either together or individually - varies from patchy to completely terrible.

For me there's a big difference between Skid Row's "we just love being in your face and antisocial" and NIN's "I hate the world and everything in it, including myself".

I would say now it's people who are not in a financially precarious situation. Generally with a stable salaried job, owning their own home and giving financial support to their kids.

Idk about this. TR is a much better songwriter and vocalist but the lightweight electro sound is a bit lacking. And going by earlier discussions about what makes a great album, NO nail it by not having any standout songs. Though they're clearly having fun trying out all the buttons on their synths.
