Dumb reviews of dumb movies. Spoilers. You simply can't account for taste
Wow I feel vindicated in thinking Emila Perez was a truly bad movie.

Meet Joe Black
Wildly long movie with so little plot. But the end, like, they're just having a romantic moment together while her dad is 15 ft away, dead in the grass?? Then they just walk off???

Also for the record, I am aware of Letterboxed stop telling me that this account is basically a letterboxed. I know that. I'm not dumb I just enjoy really dumb media!

Anora
I'm so glad I declined to see this movie with my mom. I'm Sean Baker neutral, so I don't have a strong opinion about whether he should or shouldn't use SWs as a topic. Its a good, very pretty film. She should have been paid so much more for a week engagement it made me so mad.

A Knights Tale
Uh oh! Anachronism detected?!? Absolutely wild that they gave Chaucer a bad boy back story, like name one other movie where you repeatedly see Chaucer's ass. I'm kind of obsessed with the "Oh so you're the best? Lose for me to prove you love me" power play, brutal and hot. Great film.

Final Cut Ladies and Gentlemen
An impressive lil project, but also remarkable for how much film guys in this era loved Sin City. All together a good time good job.

Cheers
I got weirdly addicted to Cheers over the past two weeks. Not something I was expecting! But damn it is so well written, the characters are so good and the jokes are so smart and funny. The poignant moments are so well done, I was experiencing deep empathy and joy with the characters.

Challengers
After I got over the betrayal that there's just one boy kiss and no boy sex, I could appreciate that this is a good movie. Copious amounts of sweat and unpleasant forced perspective aside. Love a Trent Reznor soundtrack.

Benjamin Button
A Forrest Gump knockoff with cloying "life lessons" peppered between a man out of time, witnessing world events. You have to watch the whole thing cuz you know the ending will be so weird and probably gross, and it is, but god what an awful, long movie.

The Dead Don't Die
I do not understand how Jim Jarmusch makes some movies that are good and then some movies that are not. This is a not. It seemed like an excuse to hang out with some of his friends and goof off, which is ok, but don't make it a movie, Jim.

2001: A Space Odyssey
Obviously I have seen this before, but I watched it very high with a friend who had not. And dang, look at the ballz on this film, guys. I've been receiving lots of targeted advertising for an Anyma show in the Las Vegas Sphere, and first of all, I'm not the correct targeted-

Babygirl
I had high hopes! But this movie was girlporn. The psychic bad boy who intuits your fantasies, but has no backstory or character development. Who conveniently is just gone, with zero repercussions, as soon as you don't need him. You still get to keep your marriage and be the CEO of amazon

Madam Web
Wow, this was a baaaad movie. But it was interesting that they talk openly about surveillance NSA tech and how scary it is. I feel like after 2015 movies weren't allowed to use NSA surveillance as a plot point anymore, we all just had to pretend that they can't access every camera anytime

Deadpool and Wolverine
It saddens me deeply that the X Men are being roped into the Avenger universe, and it saddens me to an even greater degree that this is the manner in which they got folded in :( This whole movie was an excuse to indelicately alert everyone that the Avenger franchise ate X Men

Infinite
A real pooper. The only saving grace of this movie is that Marky Mark is not the romantic lead. They do some gratuitous muscle shots, but no kissing, thank god. Also, I'm on the side of the nihilists, break Samsara! Escape the wheel!

Heretic
Get this guy access to a computer, a reddit account and youtube channel. He just needed an outlet for his atheist gotcha games. But also a great example of why I hate atheist "logic". Citing that all religions have similarities dating back millennia just makes them sound cooler, imo.

Source Code
Extremely politically confused. The military/government is clearly the villain and are torturing the soldier in the most fucked up way, but the movie is written such that we're supposed to excuse it or see it as merited and heroic? I have questions about the politics of the writers.

Predestination
Holy shit. This is the first movie that I feel strongly about not ruining the plot. Decadently bad time travel. This might be the jewel of my collection, the ender to my Bad Time Travel Film Fest. It so extremely bad. But also incredible, perfect, gorgeous. I love it so much.

Caddo Lake
I really liked it! Elegant time travel. Although I spent most of the movie arguing about if there was time-incest. The verdict is, a liiiiitle bit at the very end. I think the great grandpa-grandson are technically banging the same woman. But that's only 'cest light, not full zesty 'cest.

Abigail
I'm still watching this movie and its so terrible. It seems like its based on a bit character from a video game? Here's a better, vampire-free, plot: Mob boss hires random assassins to kidnap his daughter periodically to train her how to fight/kill.
That would be a cool movie, this sucks

Mr and Mrs Smith
I loved this movie and I weirdly have never seen it before. Its perfect, where to start. I like movies where you know the basic premise coming in, so you have certain expectations, but the plot was may more complicated than I was expecting. Great twists great turns, great fake outs.

Synchronic
Interesting time jumps. And the like pineal gland stuff is always a dumb romp. I really do wonder about the interpersonal relationships of EMTs often, so I liked seeing how fucked up they were. Weird breeder politics about how if you are procreating you should self sacrifice :(

The Endless
Truly, is it better to live in a looping UFO cult that has sick parties or in the beige real world with a dumb job? I was high while I was watching it, so I completely misunderstood the end of the movie and kinda made up my own ending, which, in my opinion, was a better ending.
