I'm now 24 hours into Final Fantasy Tactics, and have only just realised that you have to equip the abilities to your characters for them to take effect

Platinum #71: Tomba 2. One of my favourite childhood games, and a great nostalgia hit. Hadn't realised this actually came out 3 weeks ago

Had a semi successful weekend of magic. Friday was Avatar prerelease, and managed to go 3-0, with Yangchen claiming MVP. Then Sunday was spent cubing, starting 1-2 in vintage with domain, and ending 3-0 with mono red in peasant cube

Finally finished the main story of borderlands 4. Fairly decent most of the way through, although it felt less connected to the previous titles, and the difficulty spike in getting to last area was a little jarring. Also, who the hell signed off on the UI?

Platinum #70: Ghost of Yotei. This is easily one of the best looking games that I've played this year, and solid gameplay experience from start to finish. A possible contender for GOTY, but I suspect Expedition 33 may get it

Bag is packed, car is loaded, deck is registered, let's go to Liverpool!

It's been a while, but here's an mtg mailday. Some bits for standard, some bits and upgrades for modern, and odd bits and pieces for commander

Yet another awkward moment when you come across someone from the office on Hinge...

Platinum #69: Oblivion remastered. Played the original 14 years ago, but couldn't quite get on with it. Even though this was just just a graphical remaster, it was still a good experience, even if the trophy list was a bit straightforward.

Convinced there's one bird in Truro that hates my car

Managed to "finish" Blue Prince, and got to room 46. Game is well designed, and I know that there's a lot more to discover than just getting to the end, as I discovered on my 2 hour run

Another draft, another 2-1 with a mull to 5 in the last round against my nemesis. Deck was sweet, and effigy and voice were MVPs. Got to cast Revelation once, still died.

Been playing Expedition 33 for the last few days, and just started act 2. Enjoying it so far, but by God is the parry/dodge system difficult to get right

I know have a new game to play for when I drive to work

Platinum #68: Nine Sols. What a game. This was such a great experience, the art is fantastic, the combat is fluid, each of the bosses offer something different, and it is now one of my favourite games I've played in the last five years

Well, it's taken me close to 10 hours, but I FINALLY managed to beat the last boss of Nine Sols. Amazing game, and I look forward to the platinum

Got to the last boss on Nine Sols, and after roughly 6 hours of getting my ass handed to me, finally managed to beat the second phase, only to discover that there is a third, much harder phase 🙃

Watching the Nintendo direct has me tempted by the Switch 2, could do with more exclusives though

Went back to Nine Sols on Saturday, and have barely put it down since. It is just utterly fantastic and beautiful, and it is fast becoming one of my favourite games

Nine sols: incredibly pretty, incredibly difficult
March 23, 2025 at 11:01 PM
Finished the main story of Monster Hunter Wilds. Although short, it was actually quite enjoyable, and felt more cinematic than World.

Words cannot describe how much I fucking hate FF7 Rebirth's hard mode cactuar crush with Aerith. It's the worst mini game period.
February 26, 2025 at 7:32 PM
Who managed to go 3-0 and smash Aetherdrift prerelease? This guy 😁
February 8, 2025 at 12:08 PM
Managed a surprising 2-1 with this pile at Innistrad remastered draft last night, with the 3 game losses going to board wipes. Highlight was winning on turn 5 with a flashbacked rally the peasants
