the roaches have a bit more complex AI now 😛 i might try using multifractals to give their behavior more florid unpredictability though now that i've found out about that

Here are some other examples of output from the program at earlier points yesterday:

I've done further work since this in the direction of a dialogue system and have brought in the multifractal techniques he described. I think it shows promise. 🙂 This is as far as I got yesterday, using a generator made from word and punctuation frequencies in Mandelbrot's article just for kicks.

He presents a technique that can generate signals that have not only small-scale, "routine" volatility but also less common, mid-strength volatility and rarer, large-scale volatility like occasional market crashes, therefore having a closer resemblance to actual stock price movements.

okay, i made a little audio demo making use of those formulae ^^ fm synthesis is darker, it's true!! :D it has like, the same amount of acoustic energy overall it seems like, but concentrates it more in the lower frequencies: spinnylights.net/misc/pm_vs_f... (goes pm, fm, pm, fm)

haha okay so i honestly felt a bit of doubt and wanted to reassure myself, so i outlined a proof by induction of the correctness of these formulae. i do feel somewhat reassured now ^^ i was like "is that really it?? maybe i'm just crazed?" XD
August 25, 2025 at 9:14 PM
okay here are my corrections. fm synthesis is honestly not nearly as complicated as i was making it out to be. sorry about that XD it had been too long since i computed a more-than-basic integral by hand 😅 i'm glad i got this refresher honestly

of course, even if the oscillator behaves stably under those conditions, this is still not "true" frequency modulation because no integration of the modulator is taking place (i wrote out a detailed explanation with LaTeX if you want to see it in notation)

one upside of using vim is that when your cat walks on your keyboard it's particularly crazed 😂 as you can see this single line comes out to 3,539,131 characters (approx. 3.5 MB of text)

that said, even al gore was not immune to the unipolar high of the era…i don't know if he still thinks this way or not, but hillary clinton almost certainly does (remember "we came, we saw, he died"?)

if anyone wonders where the u.s. executive picked up the impulse to skirt around the courts by unilaterally throwing people it's afraid of into holes of state in more conveniently repressive countries, or how it built up the connections to do this quickly and easily, i can't help but recall…

perhaps this is too ornate to be practical in that context, although i'm really fond of the the "compass rose and beetles in flight" theme

here's the other two development videos from this since people seem to enjoy these ^^ the aquarium area:
August 13, 2025 at 6:00 AM
re last rt, lily and i did the aquarium zone for that game, v fun project ^^ iir she did most of the 3D models and textures, and i did most of the animations and materials/shading, as well as the audio…we did everything together tho ultimately, it was very side-by-side collaborative
