I'm a retired home birth midwife (licensed and nationally certified) who was asked to be on the phone or in a different room during several free birthers' labors. I always declined because having that responsibility without collaboration with these women is far too professionally risky.

Why they are doing this is to eliminate loans for these professions, most of which are women.
