Just a liberal from the southwest fighting the good fight by shouting into the void online. Former digital campaign consultant and recovering Twitter addict. Toxically positive.
And you quote the Bible while sinning and spreading falsehoods. Good luck.

You can choose not to provide your phone number when donating through ActBlue (it’s optional) and use a dummy email.

That’s not a perfect solution, but it works until ActBlue does what it should to fix the problem. Alternatively, you’d need to mail a check.

If you’re just going to make shit up, there’s no point in continuing the conversation. Godspeed.

ActBlue is PayPal for political donations. It doesn’t keep any money past a processing fee - donors choose who to give to and whatever campaign and PAC they choose decides how the money is spent. ActBlue has no part in that. You are either woefully misguided or deliberately lying for some reason.

Not wrong, but do you think you’re going to convince any of them to vote with us in 2028 with this rhetoric?
November 30, 2025 at 10:07 PM
The Hillary Clinton campaign is not ActBlue, but go off.
November 30, 2025 at 7:40 PM
That’s completely false. Jesus Christ.

I’ll start texting folks with links to your profile and it’ll be Lemon Test spam instead of me. Sweet.
November 30, 2025 at 2:14 AM
They’re not texting you, candidates and PACs are doing it and linking to their ActBlue fundraising pages. Whoever you gave to in 2020 sold your email and phone number, and so did the next group, etc etc.

It sucks.

We’re going in circles - have a great weekend!
November 28, 2025 at 8:16 PM
Well, we half agree I guess. AB doesn’t profit off user data except indirectly on the processing fees when a campaign you gave to sells that data to someone else and new donations are triggered, and that campaign doesn’t profits a ton more. I view the person selling it as the bigger villain.
November 28, 2025 at 8:13 PM
On that, we agree. Just don’t get why you’re simultaneously so willing to absolve the people choosing to use it this way of their blame. AOC selling your data that AB shared started your spam. There are plenty of responsible, good actors who use don’t pull this shit. Kat Abughazaleh, for example.
November 28, 2025 at 8:04 PM
I appreciate the thoughtful back and forth even though we couldn’t find much common ground. Your take just feels like solely blaming the car instead of the driver after a car crash. AB should change, but until a law is passed & the grifters are held accountable, no one platform can change anything.
November 28, 2025 at 7:47 PM
I just think the anger is misplaced, and folks saying the source of the problem is ActBlue are letting the Dems not living their values who actually send these texts off the hook. Mamdani, AOC, Bernie, and others list swap and buy lists every day. They’ll do anything for a 10% bump in their raise.
November 28, 2025 at 7:30 PM
You’re not wrong there - as I said, they aren’t blameless. But if they banned it today, all these grifters would just switch to Numero or someone else and keep texting. The problem is the consultants like Mothership trying to get rich at all costs and the candidates and PACs who choose to pay them.
November 28, 2025 at 7:26 PM
These scam PACs texting you the sky is falling and just $5 more on ActBlue will save the world are a grift. Digital consultants like Mothership who care more about getting rich than winning and helping people are the problem. As are the people who hire them who think the end justifies the means.
November 28, 2025 at 7:23 PM
ActBlue doesn’t get a notification when you opt out, it’s whoever texted you. ActBlue is just PayPal processing payments. They don’t send texts.

If you think Mamdani or AOC processing payments on Numero would save your phone, you’re wildly wrong. This is misplaced anger. They’re the problem.
November 28, 2025 at 7:19 PM
1,000%. It should be criminal and everyone is complicit, including politicians we love like AOC. ActBlue handing over receipts with donor info to the campaign or PAC receiving the money is pretty basic stuff - they have to have most of it legally so they can file with the FEC.
November 28, 2025 at 7:17 PM
I’m with you on this. Congress or state legislatures have to act. This spam isn’t just a Dem problem - my Republican family members have the same problem 3x worse. The problem is they never will because all the politicians benefit - they don’t care where campaign cash comes from, just that it comes.
November 28, 2025 at 7:09 PM
This is not true, they only give donor data to the group you choose to give to as is made clear in their TOS. It’s the candidate or PAC you give to selling your data to one group, then that group sells it to another, etc. ActBlue is not blameless, but the real villain is the PACs & their consultants
