In this case, as the protagonist recollects old memories, the music adds more instruments, bringing out all the nostalgic feelings she has in that house.

Last chance to play Subversive Memories Demo on Steam!

You have until February 24th (Monday).

You'll be able to play it on the Haunted PS1 Demo Disc. Later, a new (better) demo will be released before the official launch of the game on Steam.

Just finished implementing a map system. The map opens up as you explore and find new rooms. It shows regular exists and points of interest. It looks very simple for now, but I might improve it over time.

Any thoughts?

Updating the game with new vehicles. In particular the ████. Made by ██████, you could see this car all around Brazil (and countless other countries) until late 90s.

Ref #6: Courtroom. The department also had its own courtroom. The police / armed forces would arrest, torture, judge and, in many cases, execute any person who would be deemed "suspicious". There was no room for a fair trial and many people were wrongly murdered.

Ref #5: Director's office. Some rooms in the game do not translate what the real places looked like. Instead they hold a game design purpose and incorporate some elements of the what those rooms looked like.

Ref #4: The DOPS/SP was not a simple police station. The building had all the infrastructure to offer medical treatment to its personnel, dorms, cafeteria and storage.

Ref #3: Archives room: an important location for DOPS/SP, it kept data on members of left-wing movements. Most of the archives were burned in the 1990s in an effort to erase evidence of the violence employed by the army and police.

Ref #2: The player will explore the backrooms of a military base. The department had its own jail (here reproduced as a diorama), where all people opposing the regime would be arrested without any warranty or fair judgement. Thousands disappeared after being taken there.

Subversive references real life settings and events related to the military dictatorship that took place in Brazil 60 years ago.

Ref #1: this building references the DOPS (Department of Political and Social Order), where political prisoners were kept and tortured.

The safe room music in horror games has to be special, and I know that @lemondrop1.bsky.social did an amazing job doing it. Unfortunately, bsky limit is 1 minute, but you'll hear how amazing this track is in the final game.
