Two questions every school leader should be able to answer:
1. Why does my school exist?
2. How easy is it to be a good teacher at this school?

HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has bought #HEADTEACHERING so far! More here from my Gen Z Social Media Marketing manager…

Been knocked off the top of the ‘School Governance’ chart by a much younger and much more handsome DHT’s new book. I feel like Cliff Richard having ‘Saviours Day’ knocked off #1 by Wham! And who buys a hard copy of the OFSTED framework?? That’s like been done over by Status Quo!!

With just over a month to go until publication, it’s time to thank and celebrate the inspirational school leaders that provided case studies for #HEADTEACHERING. It’s a ‘who’s who’ of talent!

Back in my happy place for some much needed R&R.

Looks like the cover is finalised! Planning a free Leadmeet at BH on evening of 9th Oct to combine the book launch with a heap of cracking school leaders sharing why ‘Headteachering is the best job in the world’, so look out for tickets!

Second training race for Chase the Sun, the Somerset Velo. All going to plan until gear cable goes at 70 miles. Cue an hr and 20 minutes of the bike mechanics trying to fix it . By then I was being stalked by the broom wagon which added some jeopardy to the end of the race.

Saved from a skip. Whilst the original Ladybird children’s reading books might be a little ‘of their time’ content-wise, they are surely worth keeping for posterity.

Eclectic new vinyl additions: the first three acquired on purpose, the rest saved from a skip…

Having fun with chat GTP. Sadly, I don’t think there are any wise educators in Trump’s circle to teach him basic economic literacy.

Cameron Appleyard (Matthew, his brother, was also there). I very much suspect he was a frequent visitor to your office! He’s a lovely lad with a young family and a good job these days. I’m a Brummie (well, Nuneaton originally) who moved to Bristol for uni so have family in Chelmsley Wood.

Loving my holiday read #Punkleadership by the brilliant @keziah70.bsky.social , which avoids the piety of other publications. Her five word review of Bristol may need further discussion… Plus, just discovered she was my nephews HT at Coleshill!

My daughter, who is currently working in social media marketing, has taken it upon herself to ‘help’ promote the book. I remain unconvinced by the direction of her campaign…
