When he was in Iraq, he worked for 2 months, then came home for a month. When he took that job, it was supposed to be 6 months. That turned into almost 6 years. The pay was hard to turn down. I did worry about him though. He lived on military bases. When I really worried was when he had to travel.

We have spent almost half our marriage living apart. We've been married 15 years. For the first six years, he was working in Iraq. Then, when that job was over, he still traveled for work in this country until he retired. Now, his brothers keep him busy. I really don't mind, though. It works for us.
