Having both teams beat the same tag team of vets in similar fashion makes it seem like the tournament match between them is really close.
That's the benefit TayJay was getting with that match.
Beating the team of vets in a longer match or a younger team doesn't accomplish that.

Here was the plan/booking:
1) AEW booked Shafir/Bayne vs TayJay in the 1st round of the Tag tournament.
2) Shafir/Bayne beat Alize/Newell in a 2:26 squash last week.
3) TayJay were booked to beat Alize/Newell in a 3-min match

People will comment without reading the article. What Matt is saying not only makes sense but we already knew he wasn't happy. He made the move to AEW not to be on the sidelines anymore and that's where he ended up. And he did air his frustrations about not being used during that time.

And the podcast wouldn't do classic matches, it would be for the matches since the last podcast and it wouldn't be afraid to pick an average match once in a while but it wouldn't be to bash on it. They would use it as a "what went wrong and how it could have been avoided or been better.

It depends on who you ask.

My answer for a good podcast is hosts/guests being genuine.

As for what's missing, I'm gonna say a more technical analysis-inclined podcast. Going in-depth with sequences, counters, flow, selling, storytelling during a match... Would be a niche pod but it's missing.
