UN says it's recorded the killing by Israeli military of more than 1,050 Palestinians trying to get food since 27 May - the day after the controversial aid distribution mechanism run by the Israel- and US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation began operating as an alternative to the UN-led mechanism.

WHO director said "As you know, mass starvation means starvation of a large proportion of a population & a large proportion of population of Gaza is starving. I don't know what you would call it other than mass starvation, and it's man-made. And that's very clear, this is because of the blockade."
