Here they are, signing autographs for people who weren't even alive when they originally raced!

It's 2 days before I leave for a re-enactment weekend. The perfect time to start a new project!
Crazy, but if I can pull this off it means I'll be braving the 30 degree heat in linen instead of wool!

My 17th century stays are nearly done! I have learnt so much making this, and I'm pretty happy with how it's come out!

I love this cat toy I bodged together! My cat loves playing with my wool or thread when I'm working, so I crocheted her own spool of yarn! It's just a chain stitch, wrapped around the bobbin with some slip stitches to keep it from unravelling, and a tail left loose to chase!

I'm working on a pair of 17th Century stays. Last night I finished sewing the boning channels, next step is to fill them! I can't imagine doing all of this without a machine

This is a public callout.
The user @enbygoblinpaints.bsky.social has been using their creations to harass innocent adventurers who have never done anything wrong!

If you see this post a sword

Throwback to last year, when Nona helped me blunt my sword so it was safe to hand to civilian children!

I have finally finished my first set of mittens! (Let's ignore that the first one was completed in November!)
I did not colour match the thumbs, and it looks like the mittens swapped thumbs! 😂

I baked these jam tarts for a valentines themed party this weekend. They came out so well and we're delicious!

#ThrowbackThursday to the first time I followed a knitting pattern! This project was the free gift in a knitting magazine at the end of 2023. I finally learnt the purl stitch and some colourwork! There are mistakes in there that make me laugh, and I still don't know how I managed some! 😂

Bsky only allows 60sec videos, so I've had to upload it in double time, which isn't ideal 😬
My top tip is to keep the right needle in front of the middle needle and the left needle behind the middle needle.
I'm not very experienced at knitting, but dpn is my favourite, so I hope this helps! 🧶

How do you count your rows? If I'm staying put at my desk, I use dice! I'm currently working on a 3 row repeat that I have to do 6 times, so I've got my d4 and my d6 keeping count!

A week ago, I posted here that I didn't want to learn to knit cables as it looked intimidating, and so many people replied with encouragement and advice! So I gave it a go, and here is my first attempt at a cable! It was very satisfying to do!
Thanks everyone!

I made these purses last year for my English Civil War #Reenactment. They are replicas of the Gunnister Purse, found on a bog body from the late 17th Century and show one of the earliest examples of fair isle knitting. ( A little late for my period, but it's a talking point!) 🧶

Here it is off, and before I grafted the ends

I completed my advent cowl knit! I absolutely love it! This is my most complicated pattern so far, and I learnt so much!
I grafted the ends together last night, putting a twist in it, which I thought was cute! 🧶

The cat markers are from my partner @enbygoblinpaints.bsky.social for Christmas! And the sheep one also marks the end of the round!

What I learnt very quickly while knitting my first large colourwork piece is to use stitch markers frequently! This pattern repeats in divisions of 24, so I have a marker every 24 stitches and I can see much quicker if I've made a mistake! 🧶

This is my current knitting project, the Wee County Yarns' advent cowl! I am absolutely loving it, it's so beautiful! I have not been able to complete it during advent, but I hope to have it done before winter is over! 🧶
