We're sponsoring the first (that we know of) lighted holiday paddle parade in Sitka. December 20th - weather dependent. 4:00pm. Meet at the UAS parking lot on Japonski Island. It's about 3 miles / 1.5 hours. Hot drinks at the SMHS Boathouse.

Every once in a while you get to truly feel history. Usually a Park Ranger is involved. But a precious few times in a lifetime we are so fortunate as to stand in the footsteps of a culture-bearer who reached across time to touch our soul thousands of years ago.

This juvenile red-necked phalarope seemed a bit grumpy, but we are told was just concentrating on being wildly sexy.
