The Grand Hotel is a Best Western, but I haven’t stayed there recently. The Travelodge, also near the marina should be ok too.

There was a lovely b&b in Seaton which I’d recommend like a shot, sadly it closed last year when the owners retired. I have stayed at the Douglas Hotel on Grange Road, but I bailed after 1 night due to getting a rather weird, unsafe vibe. Nothing happened, but I wasn’t comfortable.

In all seriousness, the Premier Inn on the Marina is your best bet. Which is depressing but true. For a self-catering option, there’s an Airbnb in Scarborough Street which a friend booked recently and highly recommends.

And all that development wasn’t paid - once it was commissioned, the production fee was it.

I pretty much blew my entire fee just spending 18 months of my time (on and off) getting through the BBC’s two radio drama pitching rounds. It resulted in a commission, but I’ve arguably been working for free since then.

Thank you! I cannot believe no one has ever said “Merry Quigmas” to me until now. Excellent work.

We have a little holiday place on the Norfolk Broads which is rented out. I obsessively sharpen the knives every time I’m there. Because exactly this.
