This episode is a classic. Not exclusively, but at least partly, because of Peter’s throw-controller-at-screen fury at being forced to deal with this. I haven’t read the book, despite a thousand recommendations, and also had no idea he was such a dipshit. So thanks for running defence

This is obviously all kinds of fucked up, but I’m hesitant to pile on because my first instinct is frankly overwhelming sympathy for that child…

Cool idea that, in that culture, it is statistically likely that names end in -in/-ine, like -os/-us/-a in Greek and Latin

So looking forward to this pod. It’s my favourite opera, in ways that are difficult to explain partly because i think it does something very different from what it appears to be trying to do, and partly because I think it’s truly musically radical in ways that escape, eg, Adorno’s Materialbegriff

Also that’s one hell of a line break after „high“…

For classical music specifically apple has a separate classical app (same subscription, just a bespoke interface) that makes this much easier. This was 100% of the reason I went to apple when I quit Spotify

I would like to read the „materials and method“ section of this article. Seems flakey

(Which is also facially absurd because… she didn’t. A movie studio hoping to make billions on a successful franchise did. She’s claiming a kind of propietary relationship by association because they were unknown beforehand. Is she claiming ownership of Alan rickman or Maggie smith?)

I‘ve given up on imagining there is a floor to rowling‘s behaviour, but even I was shocked at the „I made those kids; how dare they betray me?!“ narcissism of this response

I’m unreliable, but sometimes I come through with the goods

Because of the ste? (Imagine the „e“ being upside down for IPA…)

Starmer‘s behaviour since the election is the most baffling thing I’ve seen in anglosphere politics in my lifetime

Classic Shaun, politically equivocating like a fucking rube

I read this and thought „ooh! This sounds intriguing!“, so I updated. Fucking hate it. Everything is a blurry UX nightmare… deep regret…
