A business can also maintain the same-ish level of revenue (at least per transaction).

That goal offsets the business' increased costs without overburdening their customers.

Did you miss the "yet many owners still expect higher revenue and plan to expand in the year ahead," part?

If increased prices are also expected to increase annual revenue - the amount that they are raising prices significantly EXCEED the increased costs.

Casual reminder that the phrase "Pulling yourself up from your bootstraps" originated to describe an idea that is utterly preposterous and clearly impossible.

The devolution of the phrase was designed to give people a false sense of hope - "a wild goose chase" of hard work, if you will.

Additionally, 2 sm. pizzas of 10" and 6" diameter create a total surface area of ~106.7 sq. in.

That's ~equivalent to 1 Medium 12" pizza

So 1 homemade 12" med. pizza costs ~$4.20 (🌿)

Exceeding my $1-$3 range
But still makes 3 pizzas (2 medium + 1 small) for the price of 1 storebought ~$10 pizza.

Me too...

I wonder if they could calculate % of similarity to the original post?

But then that makes shorter posts barely editable.

A 5% similarity req:
• Permits 2.5 characters (chars) on a 50 character post
• Permits 15 chars on a 300 char post.

So yes, I absolutely do know what I'm talking about.

I've done the math on multiple occasions, adjusting as food costs have risen.

My dough fits into a 10" and a 6" cast iron pan, and my recipe is extremely consistent.

There's a reason I do this. It's cheap and an incredible father-son bonding.

Cheese varies based on how cheesy you want your pizza.

5 lb is ~$17
1/4 lb of cheese is a *heavy* amount of cheese on 10", yet still makes 20 pizzas

$0.85/pizza for *heavy* cheese
$0.42/pizza for light cheese

So $0.50 for dough, $1 for sauce, $0.60 for cheese - that's $2.10/pizza
November 10, 2025 at 5:06 AM
Sauce varies based on how saucy you want your pizza

90-112oz canned tomatoes is ~$10-$12
That makes ~12-15 pizzas, so ~$0.70-$0.90/pizza

Then just 11.3g of Salt, 45g of sugar, 7.5g oregano.

That makes sauce ~$1/pizza, varying on pizza sauciness.

Yeast:
113g is $7.5
1.5g makes both, so 113g makes 150 pizzas.
$7.5/150 = $0.05/pizza

Water:
Prices vary (tap, bottled, etc)
194g makes both, which is < 50% of a 16.9oz bottle.
So I'll estimate $0.17/pizza if bottled

$0.24 + $0.01 + $0.004 + $0.05 + $0.17 = ~$0.50 per pizza for the dough

Math for a 10" and a 6" pizza

Flour:
2270g is ~$3.5
300g makes both, so 2270g makes 14-15 pizzas.
$3.5/14.5 = $0.24/pizza

Salt:
1360g is $3
9g makes both, so 1360g makes 302 pizzas.
$3/302 = $0.01/pizza

Sugar:
1810g is $3.5
4.5g makes both, so 1810g makes 804 pizzas.
$3.5/804 = $0.004/pizza

...no. I was pricing dough, sauce, and cheese - exactly what I described at the end the post you're replying to.

If you're looking to argue, please take it to ArgumentSky. I'm here to talk about how awesome and inexpensive homemade baking is.

Yeah - that's the best solution we have for now.

Though that's typically the main scenario I'd prefer to quickly edit instead of fully deleting.

Especially on the times I'm editing just to add a copied URL, or the rare time I delete before remembering to copy the text first.

imo, allowing edits *only* within a few minutes of posting would be a fairly effective solution.

It would allow for quick "oops, lemme fix that" edits, while preventing egregious message-flip style changes.

Doesn't address every circumstance, but it'd be a start.

Cheese I buy in bulk b/c we make pizzas once a week.

~$1 makes a Small pizza or calzone, thus the $1-$3 range.

Toppings would certainly increase the cost, but that cost varies dramatically w/ the type and qty of ingredient/s, so I only estimated for the base pizza (crust, sauce, cheese).
November 10, 2025 at 3:12 AM
If you have the time, pizza dough is just Water, Flour, Salt, Sugar, and Yeast.

A whole homemade pizza costs about $1-$3 depending on the size and quality of ingredients.

Plus, if you wanna meal prep them, you can stretch, partially bake, and freeze them ahead of time!

All while Mamdani's *first round* received 20k more total votes than Cuomo's *second* round.

More people wanted Mamdani just to appear on the ballot than those who wanted Cuomo in office.

Soooooo much of this is due to the lack of research, training, photographs, practice dummies, etc of darker complexioned patients.

So many doctors don't recognize conditions and symptoms on us melanated folks because they've never seen what X condition looks like on non-white skin.
