Man is no man, but a wolf, to a stranger - Titus Platus

I promote diversity and tolerance. Speak with many, and you will find answers.
The entire Golden Age of Mascot Platformers was commercially-driven! Fan projects are the only ones where Furries are 100% involved. It is possible for businesses to get it right, but they gotta get to know us for real. And treat us with more respect than Vanity Fair and CSI did, to say the least.

The CSI episode was not in good taste. But these comments come right before the release of Zootopia 2, one of the biggest love letters to anthropomorphism. I do see your point in the distinctions: commercial stuff for Furries to enjoy is not the same as misrepresenting and reselling the Fandom.

I'm sorry to say, but all pop culture is commoditized. 90s mascot platformers were driven by the success of Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Sonic. Spyro Reimagined was designed to appeal to Furries, not the other way around. Furry being good for business means we'll get representation. We're the fans!

If games can't be made for Furries, or if Furries need to be kept out of our favorite media, then that is either hiding, or suppression. Either way, that path is a bleak future.

I'd love to see Furry embraced more by pop culture, if it's done with joy, not to cause harm.

The problem is the world DOES know about us because of CSI, Vanity Fair, and the litter box debacle. I've seen people jump to horrible conclusions and watch them get rectified after basic education.

We can't hide Furry from the world, nor should we if we are to survive. Our reality must be heard.

When a fictional property better addresses people's needs and desires, it provides what the real world does not - hope, sense, joy, tangible goals, and rewards. When those are relinquished, some people take it as being rejected acceptance from their dreams. And making reality better is much harder.

Fan toxicity is just a reflection of society. When the world turns its back on minorities, fiction fills the void. But when people link their self-worth to a fictional property, change is especially damaging. If we can't fix how people view us, the worlds of fiction are a malleable escape.

This was in response to a dev BULLIED by their team making a cityscape that hated occlusion culling. Official documentation uses a city as the prime example! If it's easy to try, TEST IT. #1 issue for creators is sophomoric, stubborn people who assume everything from some knowledge but test nothing.

TEST TEST TEST! Use Frame Debugger to catch batches, move the main camera around and check stats/visualize your occlusion bakes. Use Profiler to check which areas of GPU/CPU processes need improvement, and what's OK. Address real issues in your project from test results with QA over imagined issues.

10 - Reduce translucent overdraw! Hotspots with lots of overlapping translucency requires heavy rendering of those pixels. Use overdraw viewer to reduce hotspots, set translucent objects to unlit/none reflection/probes when possible, and make sure translucent materials are simple.

9 - Avoid continuous syncing/update! These scripts run constantly! Manage scripts between persistent and areas that trigger on/off so scripts are only processed as needed. Use Start and On Enable for initializing, request serialization after calling synced variables. Disabled scripts don't work.

8 - Set walls, floor, and ceiling to a higher render queue! This reduces pixel overdraw by drawing these items last, ensuring pixels behind objects don't get rendered first. Unity can't sort distance when combined objects (centerpoint = room center) mix with objects that aren't.

7 - Set up light probes and bake using Bakery's L2! This uses full L2 spherical harmonics which greatly improves the accuracy of color directionality from L1 with negligible performance impact. It's already supported in Unity Standard and requires no special shaders to look great!

6 - Use layer culling masks! Exclude everything but the local player for local-player-only triggers. Exclude non-important objects from realtime reflections, lights, cameras, triggers, and colliders. Managing layer masks makes everything work the way you want and improves performance considerably!

5 - Add one reflection probe per room! These bake reflections for PBR materials and prevent metals and robot avatars from going black. Use box projection for accurate reflections in rectilinear rooms and sphere for general reflections that may not line up. If possible, avoid increasing the size.
