The US isn't a Christian country, it's a greed country. As long as folks gets what they want they will validate the selfishness as morally acceptable. Once you recognize that the only thing important to everyone is material wealth only then you may finally find the strength to change and do good.

The reason for the law was not to stifle free speech but to insure that a major communications system is not compromised by a hostile government. There are still many platforms for free speech.
