As much as I love Lovcraftian Horror (and putting aside the immensely overt racist rhetoric in the originals) I feel like cosmic horror by its very nature can't be "filmed"

LD+R "Aquila Rift" works because the cosmic horror doesn't come from the monster, but the unknowable questions it leaves us

The original "Call of Cthulhu" was based on and included some incredibly overt racist rhetoric. In fact, this "dark god beyond time and space and human existence" was summoned by "mongrel" worshippers of "mixed-blood." The story was a metaphor for how immigrants would destroy civilized society.

I'm sorry to say, but the Dems will never do that. Where the GOP is the American Fascist Party, the Dems are just left-leaning corporatists.

What needs to happen is the rise of an ACTUAL left-wing political party and treating the establishment Democrats as the right-wing party they are

One of my favorite books, "The Ethical Slut" goes into how polyamorous family units work incredibly well. "Sex at Dawn" also goes into the historical aspect of various cultures that had multi-adult families. What do people think the term, "it takes a village" mean???

2) Like you said in another reply, "The world's problems will still be here. But at least you've recovered enough to take them on again."

It's not a retreat, so much as a recharge. Similar to the necessity of sleep at the end of the day, so is returning to the shelter of our personal world.

1) I also think it's not necessarily about escaping and more about a return to a more personal world. The problems of the world outside ourselves truly exist and are incredibly important and simultaneously so is the reality that only exists within our personal sphere of influence.

I think when we're younger, we're trying so hard to find our own place that sometimes we hide that part of ourselves, only to realize later -- as you said -- how important and integral it is in what makes you, you

I completely understand this. Unfortunately I've never been completely connected to my Filipino roots growing up, but after 30 I've started to make more of an effort getting involved in the cultural community and experience

Srsly, why do people have to "contribute" to be "productive members of society" when the standards for both are subjective

Hot take: I think being able to live and survive with basic necessities (i.e. shelter, food security, etc.) is a human right regardless of your ability to "contribute"

As a twunk (twink over the age of 30), I can say that some light, flirtatious teasing can be an incredibly useful tool.

Essentially, the twink can be motivated by playful banter as long as it caters to their sense of slight masochism; this in turn can be leveraged as a pavlovian tactic.

Let's be real, you're doing your due diligence focusing on the important things -- bushy eyebrow penguins!

Dude, stop exaggerating.

Your documentary is only on Vimeo with ~3,400 views and the only stuff of yours on Amazon are your boating instructional videos and "documentaries." Regardless of whether your content is FREE doesn't mean you're not trying to market it for views.

You're sad ego stroking
