Listen, I thought the same thing. Only someone from her demographic could pull off that kind of shenanigan and get away with it, to become an editor of a major publication.

I still have the same reaction to USAID now that I had when I heard about their demise. It was an organisation dedicated to infantilising and destabilising the Global South with a veneer of saviorism as a cover.

It was a plaster not a cure - the Global South needs a cure.

I don't think the potential demise of the BBC is a leftist boon, to me it is a decline of an institution that is no longer fit for purpose. Maybe, it needs to die because it pandering to the right has caused a lot of damage and they can't even acknowledge that.

I don't know - I'm a Black Brit and the racism and xenophobia has been through the roof in recent years.

People are itching to harm me and other marginalised people. I'm a bit despondent.

They legit think we are being boomers when we ask them where they keep the cups or if there is a dressing room…because they don’t realize that expertise used to be pretty common, even in the most front line casual retail interactions.

That’s how bad it is.

A few months ago there was a TikTok trend of Gen z employees sincerely confused that older customers would ask them product questions. Someone explained that employees used to know things. Then we had to tell them about Radio Shack.

I realized they truly had no idea that things used to…work.

And maybe the most egregious of all…the chicken place didn’t have any %#!? chicken.

If you’re younger than 35 you have never known a time in this country where a lot of things generally just worked.

a sadistic accretion of selfish monopolistic policy and economic choices broke everything

In a conversation today with @vanhollen.senate.gov, Lt. Aguilar described thousands of Palestinians competing for the small amount of aid allowed in by GHF.
