Don't think I ever posted this one publicly. Years ago when I got a drawing tablet, I simply let my hand wander with it and somehow this was the result.. Just that close up face staring back.. And now the piece is out of containment!

Sometimes, whether or not it comes out good or not, or even if you can't accurately do so, it is fun to just go and mimic classic logo designs by eyeballing it. Just messing around with the base concept can be a learning experience or just a way to get your mind off things.

But there was a different one that does have a tail, the one that showed up during the first mention of Mouse's existence in the episode: The Crimson Binome
On the wall, and it even gets called out by Bob in the episode.
It too is a nice design, but not as good as what it would evolve into.

The design of the symbol itself is actually designed on two different symbols Mouse used. There is the one everyone tends to remember, the one without a tail. Or perhaps the tail just blends into the outline of the body shape.

@danshive.bsky.social Might be time to do up a new or reworked copyright for the comic instead of one that defaults to 2017, it is a little hard to read these days.
As a side note, the patreon hires uploads have been using a messed up one for a while now, where 17 & 24 are overlaid on each other.
