Only the people can help the people and it has always been that way. One person, not even just a couple of people in congress, could ever do it. What happens in this country is because we are all are collectively sitting on our asses typing behind a screen. Very few of us are on the ground.

To be fair, sympathy is just having compassion for people with similar circumstances and connections. Its a form of solidarity, but less compassionate than empathy.
