No I mean instead of making a very generic-sounding clause that people can and will panic over, why not make it clear in the clause itself what its intended use is? (And if possible, limit its use outside of that?)

Wouldn't a clause like "You agree to license your content to use to display to other users of the service, in formats current and not yet existing" do the trick?
