This is what forced me to make a physical list. I got tired of forgetting things

I feel that. My tbr has two sections. One for books that I want to read, which I think has like 16 books in it right now, and then another for anticipated releases, which has another 10

OMG I was literally planning on texting you about this because I was, obviously, freaking out

I’m feeling a lot better now :-) and I’ll start to have more energy soon as well

Made the mistake of listening to this while I was getting an iron infusion and found myself constantly stifling laughter or trying not to move my hand to cover my face (usually at something Chris said), and messing up the IV.🤣

I was warned that pretty much anything you could find triggering would be found in that article and honestly, I’m not sure if I’m going to read it or not

It’s kind of made my tummy feel a little bit off too. It’s not to the extent of how I was feeling when I was on iron supplements. But I don’t like it. I don’t want to write them off all together but like, I’m not feeling very optimistic 🙃

That’s for December, the month isn’t over yet, so I’ll be back at the end of it to report my findings. Stay tuned 🫡

This is about a lady who works at a suicide hotline where the workers are discouraged from actually influencing the people who call them to both live or die. They are simply there to listen. Laura, on the other hand, is pushing a much more sinister and disturbing agenda. Disquieting, but so so good

For November, it was a no-brainer. Picked this up on a Saturday night and had to resist the urge to tear through the whole thing simply because I was on the edge of my seat the entire book. I managed, just barely, and finished the rest of it in the morning. If you want gripping, this one is it

What a writer, storyteller, and not to mention comedian she was. Whilst reading the audiobook, I found myself thinking she could be narrating the directions for a soup recipe to me, and I’d probably still be kept entertained and laughing. Just such an engaging voice and person

Went through a bit of a slump in terms of reading in October, and the only book that managed to not only lift my spirits but make me go “yeah, I love reading,” was the Princess diarist by Carrie Fisher, which I sped through in barely any time at all

Bonus, at certain points throughout the book, the boardinghouse itself gets its own POV, which I thought was a super fun and cool addition

This one centres around a very diverse group of women living together in a boarding house in Washington in the 1950s. You get a POV for each chapter to see the unique perspective of each one, and it’s also a murder mystery set at Thanksgiving

Look! I didn’t forget today. Well, fine, I almost did, but I’m here now. My favourite book I read in September was the briar club by Kate Quinn, the second of two of her books that are included on my list. In general, I’d just recommend checking her out if you like historical fiction

For how short it is, barely over 130 pages, I think, it really does pack a punch that I still find myself lingering on months later. And, it’s set around Christmas time, so this would be a perfect time to pick it up and read it

At its core, this is the story of a girl Dad living in a small town in Ireland, uncovering the deep rooted misogyny hidden within his communities catholic church, and, coming to terms with that reality. He is challenged with the choice of remaining a passive participant within it
