When my dad was in aged care (dementia), I found the home to be fairly hopeless at making sure things didn't go missing. The other inhabitants take stuff, too, although I'm sure they just think it's their own item.

Yes! Along with that Americanism of putting an unnecessary "of" into phrases like "not that big (of) a deal." It's one of my pet hates.
