Fair, it really does depend on the local group. Mine was very high % disabled so I got lucky

I got a letter the other day which said "this lady's fracture has united very nicely indeed" and the wording made me laugh so much because it sounds like I did a good job of having bones

Fuck the Supreme Court ruling but also fuck every organisation which bows to it - I don't fully understand the legal aspects here and nor do I claim to, but I've seen other organisations get around it with solid-looking arguments

Yay for lived experience leadership and all that but also it never stops feeling weird that I can know all these niche policies and be a trusted sector voice and whatnot and still can't stop my own degree getting fucked up at random points

Yeah I waited similar for chronic illness which is why I was wondering about it for this - was thinking if the wait was that long, everyone would be getting frozen shoulder. But hey ho, I finally get to go to Selby Abbey today hahah

If you are eligible for the mobility component of PIP, you can spend *your own money* topping that up to have a great accessible car. Critics should ask: Why are you against this? What it is about disabled people that makes you believe it’s wrong to have nice things they paid for themselves?

In basketball news they *can* appreciate, I complained literally once today about having to shoot one handed (can't get my left arm above my head still) and my coach heard + made sure to cheer really loudly every single time I scored after that, which made me feel very lucky 🥲
