What am I missing here?

My ceramic pumpkin is giving more Cinderella than Halloween and I am ok with that.

That's probably the best picture of me even taken and it was from this random lady while I was minding my own business looking though the displays in the Archeological Museum in Thessaloniki.

What can I say? If the golden wreath fits...

I came back home to a shattered inner pane of my window.

The internet says metal enclosure/manufacturing fault and I have already contacted my landlady who is sorting a replacement out but I can still hear more cracking happening and I am kind of terrified it will collapse into a heap 😬

This weekend I am sharing stall C23 at the festival for Quilts with @tripsandflips.bsky.social talking about our interactive feminist community quits projects.

We have loads of fun talking to people from so many different paths of life who share the enthusiasm for textiles.

The clay gods were smiling at me today!

It was so nice talking about the quilt, crafting, motherhood, and community building again with a lovely group in Wyeside arts center! They also have a fantastic exhibition of paintings of the beautiful mid Wales countryside on so if you are around you should definitely visit!

I swear Wales is the place where all your cottagecore dreams come true. Just found this hand embroidered tablecloth in a village charity shop for £2.50

The heart of Wales line experience can only be improved by the addition of compartment coaches.

Not sure how I can explain living in Wales any better than saying that tonight my mood did a 180° from "I suck at climbing and my glasses frames broke" to pure delight when i was leaving the wall and I was offered to hold a 5 day old lamb.

Meet Wendy.

Have you even been on an Easter walk if you have not posted the bluebell carpet?

My kind of slow TV.

Recently I found myself reflecting a lot of how creativity can support resilience, drawing from both my research and personal experiences.

I have spent a few weeks in this mixed style embroidery piece, partly inspired by my commute to work, but ultimately started as a study on murmurations.

Non academic output to share but equally exciting!

The Q(g)uilt is featured at the Quilter, the magazine of the UK Quilters' Guild. All made possible after an #AHRC funded engagement activity at @emfcamp.bsky.social last summer!

Nevermind. I found all the white #minieggs

What's the longest you have waited for the next train?

My wait was almost 2 decades. But tonight I finally got Thessaloniki's Metro 😁

The ancient city under the modern city partly explains the slight delay 🙃

Final week of this pottery course.

The grey clay transformed into peachy solid bowls after firing!

The same will happen to the mugs

Final reveal in a couple of weeks!

The demo that keeps on giving!

Today we collected data in class for a second year in a row to answer the very important research question "do #minieggs have an equal ratio of pinks, yellows, whites and purple?"

1st picture of last year's sample, 2nd this year's sample.
I guess I need more data 🤷

I am going to always fill my birthday cake with candles so every year I get older it gets a little brighter.

Well, that did wonders to my brain! (I had to select two so the first and the last passed to the next round)

Some mushroom spotting to round off the year today (and some I have never spotted before)
One of the best things I learned during 2024 is the basic principles of identifying mushrooms.🍄
Still long way to go with learning how to do it reliably, but it really is just super nerdy endless fun! #fungisky

Today marks 2 years since my last chemo, which was generally speaking, not a great experience over all, but left me with the most perfect little chemo curl that reminds me how far I have come 🎉

Super proud to see some of my students graduating yesterday with their MSc! The smile on their faces was everything!

And despite the challenging year I am actually really glad I get to work with this bunch of lovely colleagues!
