Worn out.
Interested in most things, includes (regretfully politics), history, wildlife and gardening. Supposedly retired, but a carer for 94 year old mother so doesn't feel like it. Warning:Working class.
Oh don't worry it was 46 years ago! And to be fair I don't think it was due to her biting, just my poor sore nipples. My son who followed her three years later, was the biter, I can still remember me screaming. The third was a charm though and I fed him until he was two years eight months 😂

We had to take my baby daughter to the hospital because she was vomiting blood. They were puzzled as she seemed bright, alert and generally well, then they deduced it was my blood.😀

I just made my son mow around some teasels that have popped up in my mum's lawn😊

When it comes to mating, for male bumblebees, size does matter - of the tibia that is. (Stop it!).

Males with longer fore and hind legs are more successful at mating.

So those lethargic #bumblebees that you find early in the morning on flowers during the summer…

Speeding drivers are always driving like Stirling Moss.

Is there a class element to this as well? Me and most of my friends have a higher level of education than our husbands, who would still be deemed working-class according to the classifications, but it is just easier than trying to explain to family why you kept your name. Would look a bit up oneself

I think I'm a pretty ordinary person and I find Starmer's words very offensive. My electrician son's very close friend is a Filipino nurse, my nephew's girlfriend is Vietnamese, my great nephew is half Jamaican. My daughter lives in Hackney and seems to have friends from all over, no strangers here.

Have these aphids on buddliea (S E Essex), one bush is particularly bad and was the year before last, absolutely covered in them, it is in full sun, with the sunniest aspect of the plant most affected. Keep looking for ladybirds, but not seen many this year, so thriving, thought they were blackfly.

Poor jellied eels, my dad loved them and convinced my late husband of their deliciousness and they became their regular treat on a trip to Southend or Clacton (wonder whether Farage has ever tried them, I doubt it, probably prefers lobster).

I followed you because of the starter pack, I am interested in gaining new insights into all types of areas of history. I had no expectation or desire to be followed back, I will unfollow if you would prefer or I suppose you could block me, but it seems a shame to restrict your knowledge to experts

Oh I will, despite my mum's protestations we have kept this part of the garden fairly wild, (it is right at the end so she can't see it anyway). There are lots of nettles surrounding the pond and we replant self seeded buddleia we find down there, so lots of moths and butterflies hopefully.

My son sunk an old hot water tank in my mum's garden last year and it now has at least three frogs inhabiting it and I saw some blue damselflies hovering over it in late summer. Hoping for great things this year, gazing at is also a great respite from my caring duties😊

Judging by some of the ostentatious external Xmas decorations around my part of Essex I think plenty of people could afford to pay a bit more tax, but that wasn't my point, it was that given the tax receipts on the payments would it cost that much? And why have MPs mentioned changed their tune? 😊

I think the idea behind it was that men on average married a woman a few years their junior and this would allow them to retire at the same time. I know I would have loved to have had the opportunity to have shared a few retirement years with my late husband.

My mum has a lot in her garden, I didn't know they weren't much use for wildlife. In the summer they seem to attract a lot of bees to their flowers, are they worth keeping for that?
