Paul Milsap retired today. I’d like the record to reflect that Paul Milsap was probably the biggest free agent signing the Nuggets have ever had. AI came in under a trade and most other FAs were underutilized or ABA players.

I cannot stress enough that this felt like it mattered a lot at the time

The other day while bashing t shirt jerseys I neglected to mention the best design from the whole era. I forgot about these until today but I present Paul Pierce wearing the Brooklyn Nets Dodgers tribute jersey. Of course this pays homage to when the Dodgers played in Brooklyn pre 1958

I could go on about bad NBA marketing strategies all day but I will highlight that not all these t shirt jerseys were bad. I remembered this one and the Cavs one fondly. But it’s an era we can certainly afford to not bring back… ever.

Had they made this design the t shirt jersey it might not have been so bad. Actually I might’ve liked it quite a bit. But I think there was a trend in the nba for the t shirt jerseys to be more low key. I guess in attempt to get fans to wear them as actual t shirts in public? Lame and didn’t work.

Remember the T-shirt jersey era in the NBA? I do and I still had a hard time remembering the Nuggets t-shirt jersey. The visual design is fine but the colors? Borderline monochrome black and white with a baby baby blue instead of our powder blue? Awful.

Doesn’t really matter what you do if the other team shoots 60.5% from the field. As much blame as the Nuggets D deserves, the Mavs have hit a ton of flukey shots that should’ve been missed.

One position I’ve slowly arrived at over the years is that I think Ty Lawson had Jalen Brunson level potential had George Karl remained his coach.

Before Jokic, my favorite player was probably Kenneth Faried. The manimal was pure hustle. I wish I could give you a detailed breakdown of his game but really I just remember the dunks. I remember shouting in excitement even when we were losing by 15 or 20 simply because of his energy.

Gonna miss the game today but tickets are cheap as fuck in Portland and I’ve got a friend in town.
