Busy hyperfixating on my next hobby.
Music. Video games. Books. 3D printing. Photography. Movies. Anime. Tech.
Lastly, Mistborn. A solid story, great world building, but ultimately a bit tame. However, I really enjoyed it and I plan to read more Sanderson this year.

That’s it! I set my goal to 10 books this year, and I’ve started with the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Happy reading!

The Great Gatsby was a surprisingly great read. Another that I found myself often marveling at how well it was written. It’s 100 years old now but still felt relevant.

Heart Shaped Box was my first foray into literary horror. I never felt truly scared, but I did thoroughly enjoy myself.

Blood Meridian was so dense, but so beautiful. It was a challenging read. I had to read each line so intently and I was still lost often. It was like every 3rd page, I’d say to myself “that might be the best paragraph I’ve ever read”. The closing chapters were really what sold it for me. Incredible.

I read No Country for Old Men in two days. The fastest I’ve ever read anything.

The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches was a welcome change of scenery for me after reading mostly dark and devastating books. I really loved it.

Here are my top 5 from 2024, plus 2 honorable mentions(at the bottom of the stack).

The Road is the kind of book that creates a split in a timeline. Your life before you read it, and your life after. I can’t stop thinking about it.

May I recommend an Otamatone?

Modern - The Witcher 3.

Classic - 3-way tie between Ocarina of Time, Halo, and Super Smash Bros Melee.

I used to do this while commuting to work on public transit. It was nice to take in the sound of the city without folks bothering me.

That was me with The Road earlier this year. Still think about it all the time.
