Great article. Just one correction. "while the US adds its own complexity with 51 states, each having separate rules." Apparently the United States of America grew by a state and I didn't know it, or the author didn't realize that we only have 50 states.

Great article. It illustrates that the corporate-backed capitalist establishment Democrats are not only out of touch with their base, but that they are unwilling to accept that people want to take major steps to close the wealth gap and improve the lives of the working class. We need a new party.

Also, why not create a federally run electricity company to manage government electricity generation and work with NTSB to replace interstate freeway pavement with solar roadway tiles. We'd be able to generate all the power we need for the entire country.

I'd rather the government offered increased incentives for putting solar panels on rooftops. Everyone I know that has solar panels pays between about $20 and $60 per month for their electricity and two people I know are putting a net of about 1kw/month of surplus power generated into the grid.
