I’m so happy I got the first part of my comic, Food Bird, ready for @perthcomicsfest.bsky.social which is on this weekend in Perth (free entry!!!!). I’m pleased with how the cover turned out 😭😭😭 I feel like transperth bus stops don’t get enough representation 💖

never got around to posting my little study and swatch of #PO62 ! I was neglecting this colour for a while until I put it in a split primary palette and treated it as a warm yellow. V insightful, now I love this colour! A must have in character design/ portrait palettes imo

My fave thing about teaching kids about comic making to kids is that I get to info dump in comic form. It also feels really cool showing them that you can make fun art with cheap supplies 🥰

The first art museum that blew me away was the Australian National Gallery. Saw my first Rothko, Martin, and Frankenthaler. Seeing their art so close, to guess where the artist’s hand was, is such an invaluable learning experience.
Then came the SF MOMA

Best decision I made before I flew out for my US trip was
1) swapping out a pair of cute booties for my running shoes (many hills in SF!)
2) adding phthalo blue/PB15 to the travel #watercolour palette
What industrialisation did for the colour blue is kinda wild tbh

Best decision I made before I flew out for my US trip was
1) swapping out a pair of cute booties for my running shoes (many hills in SF!)
2) adding phthalo blue/PB15 to the travel #watercolour palette

More #watercolour comics journaling, this is when I was figuring out potters pink/ PR233, my muse being Moo Deng of course. Low tinting strength, easy to lift, very granulating- with granulating paints being in vogue rn, it’s usually this pigment or BK11 doing all the heavy lifting 😭

More #watercolour comics journaling, this is when I was figuring out potters pink/ PR233, my muse being Moo Deng of course. Low tinting strength, easy to lift, very granulating- with granulating paints being in vogue rn, it’s usually this pigment or BK11 doing all the heavy lifting 😭
