Thank you so much @abigailboydmlc.bsky.social for your incredible work in NSW to hold this sector and its regulators to account.

I could barely watch this Four Corners episode in one sitting, I can only imagine the cost of looking deeply at these horrific abuses for months on end. Group hug.

Thank you @stephhodgins-may.bsky.social for speaking out:

"419 childcare centres in Aust are owned by foreign for-profit providers. You wouldn’t let foreign equity firms run primary schools. Families have lost confidence in the childcare system, tinkering around the edges won’t bring trust back."

How blessed we are to have walked beside them for a while. 👣

Special mention to the dads who instilled a love of the outdoors. Double special mention if you passed it on intergenerationally.

And a big shout out to all the kids of dads who’ve gone on around the bend on a new grand adventure ahead of us.

“As soon as I saw you, I knew a grand adventure was about to happen.” A.A. Milne

Happy Father’s day to all the dads, grand-dads, bro-dads, step-dads, dad-adjacent and father figures who’ve leaned into the adventure.

Don't go to the march. Come and Robin Hood the elites with me instead.

There is no left or right, there is only the 0.01% and the rest of us.

Media reaction is the clearest sign yet - they know it's over for them.

They can't control compassion. They can't control us.

As my friend Hannah Thomas said, "Our cause is righteous, we keep each other safe and the greatest threat to our safety at protests is the police." She would know.

"God-told-me" is the ultimate power move of the gaslighter.

This week "God" may start world war 3 because no one went to his birthday party.

This dazed child is 6 year old Ward Jalal Al-Shaikh Khalil - her name means “flowers” in Arabic. She's trying to escape in a school-turned-shelter that was bombed overnight. Somehow she survived. 36 others (including her mum and sister) were killed.

Parenting is the impossible task of loving someone outside your skin more than yourself, and not being able to give them yours.

This Mother’s Day and every day, if you are caring for a child through illness or mental illness or disability or fear or suffering or grief, I am holding you in my heart.

This week our eldest told me she’s seeing reels of Palestinian mothers pleading for help. She held out her phone and showed me video after video of children shrinking into their bones, dying on TikTok. I could hardly bear to witness it, but we must. Our government is not. Our teenagers are.

On Sunday afternoon, my daughter presented me with a card. She painted an orchid on the front and wrote inside, “I’m so glad to be Your-chid”. She is so much more creative than me, more patient and wise. I couldn’t grow an orchid if my life depended on it, but somehow I’ve grown her.

My son is thoughtful and self-contained, he keeps his feelings to himself. But this year he’s had to ask for help - and not just for his smashed laptop screen. Loving him through a hard few months made me reflect on how my mum loved me through a life-threatening ED when I was the age he is now.

I took a week off socials and spent Mothers Day weekend with my kids, my mums and my gran. It was excellent.

So this post is a delayed reflection on what it’s meant to be a mother this year for me. And what it means to parent in a world that feels (increasingly) uncertain.

Here is our How To Vote card!

If you Vote 1 Greens and 2 Labor, you’ll keep out Dutton and get Labor to act.

So long as you put Labor above Liberals, your vote will never strengthen Dutton. We guarantee we won’t help Dutton form government, and everything we’re doing is about preventing that. 💚👈🏻

I beg to differ!

If you want to keep Dutton out, the only progressive vote in Macnamara is 1 Green. 💚
April 11, 2025 at 9:04 AM
Did you know our future rests on you?

If you live in Macnamara you’re in one of the closest seats in the country - we’re just 300 votes away from winning here!

YOUR VOTE could deliver a golden age of progressive power-shared parliament. Don’t miss your moment.🌏🐨🌱

This election, vote 1 Greens 💚👈🏻

Free early education gives children the very best start in life, while also supporting parents to re-enter the workforce sooner… but for many it’s not affordable.

So our bold plan will ensure no child is left behind. Just like primary and secondary school, it should be fee-free!!

Why does Medicare stop at your neck?!

Everyone should be able to go to the dentist when they need to.

The last time Greens were in minority Gov, we got dental into Medicare for kids. Now we want to finish the job.

This election, Vote 1 Greens to keep Dutton out and get Labor to act.💚🪥👈🏻

If you’re worried about the cost of living, housing or climate, you’re not alone.

This could be the most important election in a generation.

With a minority government predicted, we can keep Dutton out and get Labor to act.

Vote 1 Greens.

I'm heartbroken to wake to this news.

I join my NGO and Greens colleagues once again in calling for a ceasefire, urgent aid, the unconditional release of all hostages, cease arms trade, sanction Netanyahu's govt, and end this unbearable suffering.

Only peace brings peace. Only peace brings peace.

When you stand at the foot of an ancient regnan, you can feel the responsibility we have.

So I was delighted to launch our End Native Forest logging policy alongside Bob Brown at Toolangi State Forest yesterday.

We can protect our magnificent wilderness, but you’ll have to vote for it. 🌲👈🏻
